Churches & Monasteries
The Monastery of Chrysopigi is a reference point for the island and also the patron saint and protector of the island, since 1964. Located on top of a rock upon the sea, separated from the rest of the island, just before Platys Gialos, Chrysopigi monastery in Sifnos is the most popular spot on the island.
The Church of Epta Martyres (Seven Martyrs) found in the picturesque village of Kastro, is one of the most photographed church in Sifnos, as it offers panoramic views of the endless blue of the Aegean. It lies on top of a rocky islet that emerges form the sea, and when the wind blows, it is hit by the strong waves and creates a wild but yet so unique scene.
